Why Natural Stone Holds Up
Granite is our anchor material, and for good reason. It’s natural stone, every slab one of a kind, it takes heat without a flinch, and it resists scratches better than most surfaces; sealing once a year keeps it going for decades. Marble plays a different role: nothing matches its veined, luminous look, the same material Georgia built monuments from a century ago, though it rewards gentler care. We cut granite slabs and marble in our own shop, polished or honed, to your exact layout. If you want the genuine article rather than a printed pattern, granite countertops and natural stone are what we point most buyers to ask about current colors and remnant deals.
Matching Stone to the Room
Good countertop choices start with the rest of the room. Hold your shortlist against the cabinets, the flooring, and the light before you fall for a slab. If the cabinets are warm wood, a soft-veined granite flatters them; for painted shaker doors, a cooler stone reads crisp. Engineered surfaces fit here too, zero-maintenance, if low upkeep matters more than natural material. Bring us the kitchen design ideas you have, even rough ones, and we’ll match the right surface to the look. Not sure yet? We’ll bring samples to your door at no charge.
Serving Canton and Cherokee County
Our shop is in Cartersville, about 30 minutes west, so Canton sits comfortably in our service area, with quick scheduling and short lead times. As a locally owned, family-operated countertop company, we’ve set stone in the historic homes near downtown and The Mill on Etowah, in newer subdivisions like BridgeMill, and in plenty of places along the river in between. We handle the whole job ourselves, measurement, fabrication, and the fit, so a Canton project never gets passed between vendors. Our services run granite, marble, and engineered surfaces, from one team you can actually reach. Call (404) 652-9787 to talk it through.

Marble
Timeless veining and a luminous polished surface. The classic high-end choice. Needs more attentive care — worth it for the look.

How the Job Gets Done
Four steps, most of which are finished in a single day on site. We start with a consultation about colors, budget, and materials. Then we template your space precisely once you’ve chosen a slab. Cutting and shaping happen at the Cartersville shop, finished by hand for clean edges and seams. On install day, the old surface comes out, the new top goes in, and the sink and faucet get reconnected before we clean up. One crew from measure through countertop installation means nothing slips between vendors. Ready to start? Request a free quote on the contact page.

Atlanta Surface Masters did an incredible job on our kitchen countertops. The stone is absolutely flawless, and the install crew was professional, clean and on time. It’s rare to find a company that delivers both high-end craftsmanship and great customer service, but they nailed both.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the most popular countertop right now?
Quartz. The National Kitchen and Bath Association’s 2026 forecast has about 78 percent of pros choosing it, ahead of natural quartzite and well ahead of granite. The appeal is practical: non-porous, no sealing, and a convincing marble look. Still, the most popular pick isn’t automatically the right one. If you cook hard or want a genuine natural surface, granite often performs better, and natural stone is what we fabricate most. We’ll walk through the trade-offs during a free in-home visit, no pressure.
What is the most popular kitchen countertop right now?
Quartz again, for the same reasons it leads overall: it’s engineered, non-porous, needs no sealing, and copies high-end looks at a friendlier price. In real homes here, though, we still set a lot of granite and natural stone, especially for cooks who want heat tolerance and one-of-a-kind movement. The honest answer is that the best surface depends on how you live in the room. Tell us how you cook, and we’ll point you to the material that fits.
Why are people not using granite countertops anymore?
They are, just less of the dated kind. The busy, speckled brown-and-gold granite of the early 2000s fell out of favor, and many buyers switched to engineered surfaces for the no-sealing convenience. But granite itself is far from finished. In 202,6 it’s back in warmer tones, cleaner movement, and leathered or honed finishes that look current, and it still beats most surfaces on heat resistance and value. Picked in the right color, it reads timeless, not dated.
