Materials & Design
What’s the difference between a granite and a quartz countertop?
Granite is a natural stone quarried from the earth. Its color and pattern vary, even within the same slab. It’s durable but porous, so sealing is required. Quartz is engineered using 90–95% ground quartz, resin, and pigments. It’s nonporous, stain-resistant, and does not require sealing. Both are durable and strong; your choice depends on whether you prefer the uniqueness of natural stone or the consistency of engineered quartz.
Is granite or quartz better?
Neither is objectively better, it depends on your needs. Granite offers unique natural beauty, while quartz offers consistent patterns and low maintenance.
Which is more expensive?
Costs vary by color, rarity, and project size. Generally, exotic granite and premium quartz can be comparable in price. During your consultation, we’ll provide accurate pricing based on your selection.
What is the typical thickness of granite, quartz, or marble countertops?
Most countertops are fabricated at 3 cm (1 ¼ inches) thick. Other thicknesses are available for certain projects.
Will my countertops have seams?
Seams may be required depending on the slab size and layout of your project. We place seams in the least visible areas and align them with the stone’s pattern whenever possible.
What are remnants, and how can they be used?
Remnants are leftover pieces from larger slabs. They’re ideal for vanities, laundry rooms, or small accent projects.
